 Larry Emerson

Member Spotlight

This month's Member Spotlight is photographer Larry Emerson. After beginning his creative career as a biomedical photographer in the 1970s, Larry worked in advertising for many years before returning to his bliss and number one passion, photography. As a Vietnam veteran who was wounded twice and spent 13 months in US Army and VA Hospitals, Larry is dedicated to using his art to help patients. Nancy Staub Laughlin

This month's Featured Member Artist is Nancy Staub Laughlin. Nancy is an accomplished artist who works with pastels and photography to create “simulated still life” drawings filled with intense shadows, vibrant color, reflections and shimmering auras of light. Nancy's work can be seen at her solo exhibition at the Noyes Museum of Art in Oceanville, NJ, Feb-Apr 2014. Learn more about Nancy and check out her Artist Profile on our Artist Registry!

Bringing the Arts to Life: A Guide to the Arts and Long-Term Care

This latest resource from the Global Alliance for Arts & Health, published in partnership with IDEAS Institute and The Hulda B. & Maurice L. Rothschild Foundation, provides great examples of how the arts in long-term care communities can play a key role in person-centered care by engaging older adults in the artistic process.
