Medical Missions for Children - Giggles Children's Theater - Paterson, NJ

MMC’s Giggles Children’s Theater (Giggles) draws its curtains three times each week to bring the healing powers of laughter and entertainment to hospitalized children in the city of Paterson, NJ. Located at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, Giggles creates an atmosphere of levity for sick children and their families, thereby stimulating the circulatory system, which in turn massages every organ in the body. Proven is that this type of physical and emotional stimulation directly impacts the recovery of every child – young and old.

Performers
We are always in search of individuals with the desire and ability to entertain children and their families with a light enjoyable performance. The performance can be songs, dance, a play, story time, a puppet show, a choir, etc. Please come prepared to have fun and to bring brightness and laughter to children's lives.

It will be an experience you will never forget.

We are also looking for:

House Manager
Responsibilities: As the house manager you will prepare the Giggles auditorium for the show. You are asked to turn on the pre-show music and prepare the brochures. Then, we will ask that you meet the performers to assist them in carrying their props and supplies and show them to the theater. Upon their arrival, we ask that you acquaint the performers with the space and direct them to the facilities. Please make sure they are well taken care of and have everything they need.

We then ask that you work with our technical director to conduct a sound check and help the performers mark through the show so that the recording of the performance proceeds smoothly.

The theater doors open at 2:20 (if the performer is ready). Upon opening you will welcome the day's audience. You are also asked to hand out the brochure to each guardian and explain the information that is enclosed in each.

Stage Manager will meet at Giggles Children's Theater 1 ½ hours before show time on Tuesday, Thursday and one Saturday a month.
